Doypack packing machine explained
Build the stand-up pouch from production roll film.
A doypack is a flexible stand-up pouch with a formed base. The roll-film HFFS machines in this range create the pouch, present it for product filling and complete the selected sealing sequence. The package, filler and transfer process are coordinated within the specified line.
Use this machine-range hub to compare package formats, equipment categories and documented model references. A premade pouch packing machine receives bags manufactured separately and follows a different handling route.
Doypack pouch formats
Make the package part of the equipment decision.
Concept drawings explain format families. The controlled package drawing and sample run establish the selected tooling scope.

Figures are references from your supplied machine documents. Package dimensions, maximum dose and maximum speed are not a combined production guarantee.
| Documented configuration | Listed speed | Pouch reference | Configuration scope | Selection note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HMK2000 zipper doypack | 20–40 bags/min | 80 × 120 × (22+22) to 200 × 300 × (40+40) mm | 2 filling stations; maximum listed volume 1,000 ml. | The protein project has a separate 25–30 bags/min requirement. |
| HMS320-2 spout project | 70 bags/min; product dependent | Table W × H × bottom: 90 × 120 × (25×2) to 160 × 300 × (45×2) mm | Product and selected fitment functions determine the supplied sequence. | Project brief and technical-table dimensions differ; approve the drawing. |
| HMK420FED file / HMK420-4 table | 80 bags/min | Listed: 100 × 130 to 210 × 270 mm | 2 welding stations listed; selected weighing configuration. | Confirm the current model name and complete-line accepted output. |
| HS-1400D duplex reference | Maximum 80 packs/min | Listed duplex: 70 × 120 × 50 to 85 × 200 × 70 mm | Maximum listed volume 100 ml; budget proposal. | Product samples, film and final tests are required. |
| HMK4200 four-station reference | Maximum 200 packs/min | Listed doypack-4: 80 × 120 × 20 to 105 × 210 × 35 mm | 4 working filling stations; maximum listed volume 200 ml. | Separate model document; approve the shaped-product drawing and trial. |
Dimension order is retained from the source documents; use the controlled drawing to confirm the finished geometry. Filling stations, welding stations and pump or weigher capacities describe different quantities. Final accepted output is approved with the actual product, dose and production film.

Roll-film doypack or another route?
Compare the material supply and package-making boundary.
| Route | How the pack enters | What to define |
|---|---|---|
| Roll-film doypack HFFS | Pouch is made from the reel | Forming tools, film, product filling, closure and accepted output. |
| Premade pouch filling | Supplied pouches are picked up and opened | Pouch variation, opening, filler, final seal and format changes. |
| Flat sachet or stick pack | A portion-pack route forms a smaller package | The separate web layout, sachet shape, filling and closing process. |
Compare material quotations, tooling, changeovers and expected waste using your real volumes. Use the horizontal form fill seal machine guide for the roll-film process, or the form fill seal selection guide to compare other architectures.
Output, lanes and factory acceptance
Agree accepted output with the finished pouch.
A machine cycle rate becomes useful only when the product, pouch, dose, material and acceptance method are fixed.
Identify the inputs
Name the product, dose, package drawing, film, closure components and trial duration.
Exercise normal events
Include product refill, roll changes, stops, restarts and selected format or recipe changes.
Measure quality
Agree dose variation, dimensions, print, code, appearance and package-specific closure tests.
Retain the result
Count conforming pouches, rejects and startup waste; preserve settings and the agreed test evidence.
For parallel production, use the duplex and quadruplex doypack comparison and define lane-specific checks. The HMK420 flexible packaging project page provides a separate roll-film configuration reference; it is not a reason to merge model maxima.
