Direct answer

What a multi-lane sachet machine actually changes

A multi-lane sachet packing machine divides one wide roll-film web into several parallel flat-sachet paths, then meters, seals and cuts the packs in a controlled sequence. DXD900 and DXD1200 are the relevant INMAYPACK routes here. More lanes can raise aggregate output only when product distribution, dosing, registration, perimeter sealing and discharge remain stable across the full web. Compare accepted good sachets under one agreed test—not lane count or empty-cycle speed alone.

Selection inputs

Freeze these decisions before choosing lane count

The same number of lanes can produce very different results when the pack geometry, product behavior or inspection rule changes.

Finished flat sachet

Define three-side or four-side seal, width, length, perimeter seal layout, cut style, tear feature, print registration and the acceptable finished appearance.

Product and dose

Provide the real material, minimum and maximum dose, density or viscosity, flow behavior, dust, foam, drip, temperature and cleaning constraints.

Web and film

Confirm film structure, thickness, roll dimensions, maximum web width, print repeat, seal initiation behavior and storage condition.

Lane distribution

Define how product reaches each lane, how refill is controlled and how lane-to-lane dose variation will be sampled and corrected.

Accepted output

State good packs per minute, test duration, allowable defects, sampling frequency, planned stops and the rule for repeating a failed run.

Line boundary

Identify upstream product feed, coding, inspection, reject handling, counting, collection or cartoning interfaces that belong in the quotation.

DXD900 and DXD1200

Compare the two flat-sachet multi-lane platforms

These are source-sheet reference ranges, not interchangeable promises. Final configuration and accepted output depend on the supplied product, dose, film, pack drawing and FAT method.

Accuracy boundary: the DXD source sheet records ±1–5%, depending on filling characteristics. The horizontal-cut reference is up to 20–50 cycles/min; cycles and accepted sachets/minute are not interchangeable. The issued quotation and FAT plan must define the product, dose, filler, sampling method, tolerance and accepted-output basis.

Dosing architecture

The filler is part of the machine decision

The DXD900 or DXD1200 frame does not establish product compatibility by itself. Each proposal should name the selected metering principle, product distribution method, refill control, contact-parts scope and cleaning access.

  • Powders: assess flow, aeration, compaction, dust, screw selection and refill disturbance. Review the multi-lane auger filling requirements before fixing a powder configuration.
  • Granules: assess particle size, breakage, bridging, free fall, lane distribution and the dose-check method.
  • Liquids and pastes: assess viscosity, temperature, particulates, stringing, foam, drip control, cleaning and seal-area contamination.
  • Multiple recipes: include minimum and maximum dose, change-part needs, cleaning sequence and recipe-release checks in the test plan.

Machine-family boundary

Keep narrow stick packs on their own page and machine route

This page covers DXD900 and DXD1200 flat-sachet configurations. DXD-320 and DXD-750 are the recorded narrow back-seal stick-bag routes. They share a multi-lane concept but not the same forming, sealing, cutting or keyword intent.

Use the dedicated Stick Pack Machine page to compare narrow pack width, longitudinal seal position, 1–10-lane arrangements, dose path, print repeat and discharge.

DXD900 / DXD1200: flat sachets

Continue on this page when the project needs four-side-seal flat sachets across a 900 or 1200 mm maximum film web. Confirm perimeter seal width, tear feature, registration, cutting and finished-pack inspection.

The DXD source sheet lists aluminum/plastic, paper/plastic and plastic/plastic composite-film families. This does not approve every structure: sealing behavior, intended product use, print control and the target market still require project confirmation.

Controlled sequence

Verify every handoff across the full web

The station sequence varies with the selected pack and filler, but the acceptance logic should follow the same controlled chain.

Unwind

Control roll condition, tension, web path and splice handling.

Register

Maintain print position and repeat across the usable web.

Form

Hold the agreed pack geometry at every forming lane.

Meter

Distribute and dose the real product under refill conditions.

Seal and cut

Protect the sealing window, registration and cut quality.

Accept

Count good packs, defects, stops and lane-level evidence.

Shared architecture references

Inspect the web path and every parallel forming lane

The source photos below come from the DXD-750 family and are used only to illustrate common multi-lane web handling and parallel forming concepts. They are not presented as DXD900 or DXD1200 configuration photos. The final project drawing must show the supplied flat-sachet tooling, access and cleaning boundary.

Production readiness

Plan changeover, cleaning and line interfaces before FAT

Changeover and cleaning

  • Identify forming, filling, sealing and cutting adjustments for every approved pack.
  • Define how hoppers, distribution paths, filling parts and product-contact areas are emptied and cleaned.
  • Record recipe settings, change parts, first-off checks and production-release responsibility.
  • Test restart conditions after refill, cleaning, film splice and planned stops.

Controls and downstream

  • Confirm coding, registration, alarm, permissive and stop signals.
  • Define inspection, reject handling and lane-level traceability where required.
  • Confirm counting, collection, conveyor or cartoning capacity against accepted output.
  • State utilities, operator access, guarding boundaries and site handover responsibilities in the issued project documents.
Acceptance basis

Compare accepted output, not a headline speed

A useful FAT reproduces the product, pack and operating conditions that matter in production. It records both aggregate performance and problems isolated to one lane.

Accepted good packs per minute

Recorded output × agreed acceptance rate − rejected or uncounted packs

State whether refill, film splice, normal adjustment and planned operator actions are included in the test window.

Evidence to record

  • Dose checks sampled across every lane
  • Seal, cut, registration and code inspection
  • Lane-specific rejects, stops and adjustments
  • Run duration, product condition and film lot
  • Restart behavior and retest rule
  • Photos, video, settings and signed result record

Important: the DXD900 and DXD1200 source maxima are aggregate figures across all lanes. They are not a per-lane rate and do not apply automatically to every product or pack.

Quotation boundary

Ask every supplier to price the same system

A lower machine price is not directly comparable when the filler, product feed, inspection, discharge, change parts or acceptance evidence sits outside the quotation.

Base machine scope

Record the approved DXD model, lane count, web and pack geometry, forming, sealing, cutting, controls, guarding and documented utilities.

Project-selected equipment

List filler or metering system, refill equipment, dust or drip controls, coding, inspection, reject handling, discharge, counting and downstream interfaces.

Buyer-provided inputs

List product and film samples, approved pack drawing, utilities, site conditions, required documents, FAT criteria, destination requirements and commissioning expectations.

INMAYPACK engineering note

More lanes multiply the approved process—good or bad.

We would not release a lane count from a speed target alone. First confirm one stable product-to-pack path: repeatable dosing, controlled registration, a usable seal window and an accepted discharge. Then verify that the same result holds across the complete web during refill, normal adjustment and restart. This exposes cross-lane risk before it becomes a production problem.

Buyer questions

Multi-lane sachet machine FAQ

How many lanes should my machine use?
Lane count follows the approved web width, flat-sachet width, filler arrangement, product distribution and accepted-output target. The source sheet records 4–10 lanes for DXD900 and 4–12 lanes for DXD1200; these are model boundaries, not a universal lane promise for every product and pack.
Does 500 sachets per minute apply to every project?
No. The source sheet records a maximum aggregate value for DXD900 and DXD1200 across all lanes. The issued project value must be verified with the real product, dose, film, pack dimensions and FAT method.
Can one multi-lane machine run powders, granules and liquids?
The frame alone does not establish compatibility. Each product family needs a matched filler, distribution path, refill method, cleaning approach and acceptance test. A multi-recipe project should list every product and dose before configuration.
What film should be sent for testing?
Send the intended production structure, thickness, print repeat, roll width and roll-core details together with the approved pack drawing. If the final film is unavailable, agree in writing whether a representative film is acceptable and what must be repeated later.
How should lane-to-lane variation be checked?
Sample every lane using an agreed sequence and frequency. Record dose, seal, registration, cut, code and reject results by lane so an aggregate average cannot hide one unstable path.
What information is needed for a useful quotation?
Provide the product, dose range, pack format and dimensions, film structure and web, target accepted output, required filler, utilities, upstream/downstream boundary, inspection needs, cleaning expectations and FAT criteria.
