Flexible Packaging Machine for Zipper Doypacks

The HMK420 forms, opens, fills and seals zipper doypacks from roll film. Select the line from the controlled pouch drawing, product behaviour, dosing architecture and accepted FAT output—not from an isolated headline speed.

Quick answer

What is the HMK420 flexible packaging machine?

It is a horizontal form-fill-seal line, not a premade-pouch machine.

The machine converts roll film into zipper doypacks, transfers the formed pouches through opening and filling, then closes and cools the top seal. The dosing unit and downstream equipment are selected for the product and project scope.

Source boundary: the public values below are limited to a June 29, 2026 budget proposal for an HMK420 gummy-cluster project. The proposal uses HMK420-FED in the commercial line and HMK420-4 in the main-machine table; final suffix, configuration and acceptance values must therefore be confirmed in the signed project documents.

These values describe the specific proposed main machine. They are not a universal specification for every HMK420 or every product.

Separate the machine, filler and complete-line claims

Main machine

Forming and pouch handling

The HMK420 main machine controls film unwinding, gusset and seal formation, cutting, pouch transfer, opening, filling position, top sealing and discharge.

  • Project target output: 80 bags/min.
  • Project pouch range: 100 × 130 to 210 × 270 mm.
  • Final performance remains sample- and FAT-dependent.
Dosing component

14-head multihead weigher

The proposal includes a separate 14-head, 1.6 L multihead-weigher reference for the gummy-cluster project.

  • Source weighing range: 30–1,000 g.
  • Source theoretical weigher speed: 120 ppm.
  • Source theoretical accuracy: 0.5–1.0 g, dependent on product and target weight.
Complete line

Elevator, platform and outfeed

The proposed line also includes a bucket elevator, installation platform and outlet conveyor. These affect total footprint, utilities, access and FAT scope.

  • Verify the supplied equipment list.
  • Test product transfer and accumulation.
  • Accept the complete line rather than the main machine in isolation.

The photos below show relevant HMK-series and high-speed doypack mechanisms. Final brands, layouts and installed options must match the signed equipment configuration.

Linear motor drive and lubrication system reference for HMK pouch transport
Transport control: confirm gripper position, lubrication scope and recipe-controlled format adjustment.
Vacuum suction cup pouch-opening mechanism reference
Opening control: validate the formed pouch, zipper, laminate stiffness and bottom-opening behaviour with real samples.
High-speed doypack sealing jaw detail
Seal release: define temperature, dwell, pressure, cooling and contamination acceptance for the approved film.
Pouch and product fit

Confirm the packaging route before fixing the HMK420

The source project concerns zipper doypacks for gummy clusters in 85 g and 150 g targets. Other products may require a different filler, drop arrangement, dust or splash control and settling time.

Controlled pouch drawingRecord width, height, bottom gusset, zipper position, tear notch, Euroslot, print repeat and seal widths.
Product behaviourRecord piece size, density, fragility, stickiness, bridging, dust, target weight and acceptable breakage.
Dosing and transferConfirm the selected weigher or filler, product drop, hopper closure, settling assistance and seal-area protection.
Accepted outputMeasure good packs, weight compliance, opening failures, seal defects, rejects, minor stops and restart behaviour.
Process sequence

How the flexible packaging line turns roll film into a zipper doypack

Use the sequence to define responsibility and acceptance at each handoff. The final station count and installed modules depend on the purchased configuration.

Film unwindFeed the approved roll stock under controlled tension and alignment.
Gusset and seal formingCreate the bottom geometry and longitudinal seal structure.
Zipper and retail featuresApply the specified zipper, tear notch, Euroslot and coding options.
Cut and transferSeparate the formed pouch and transfer it without skew or grip loss.
Open and verifyOpen the mouth and bottom; inhibit filling when the required pouch condition is not confirmed.
Dose and settleDeliver the approved dose while keeping the seal area clean.
Top seal and coolApply the validated sealing process and stabilize the closed seal.
Discharge and inspectTransfer finished packs to inspection, collection or downstream packaging.

Write the acceptance boundary before the purchase order

The stand-up pouch machine FAT checklist helps convert the proposal into testable release criteria. Film-ordering inputs should also be controlled through the HFFS doypack film specification guide.

Approved inputsProduct samples, controlled pouch drawings, laminate, zipper, artwork and fill range.
Test basisFormat, product condition, filler, target duration, utilities and downstream state.
Acceptance dataGood output, weight results, pouch geometry, seal integrity, rejects, stops and alarms.
Handover scopeAs-built configuration, manuals, drawings, recipes, change parts, training and agreed spares.
Do not approve the line from a short clean demonstration.

Run the largest and smallest approved formats, include production-relevant product conditions, record every rejected pouch and minor stop, and repeat the release checks after a controlled restart or changeover.

Buyer questions

HMK420 flexible packaging machine FAQ

Is the HMK420 a premade-pouch machine?

No. The HMK420 route described here forms zipper doypacks from roll film inside a horizontal form-fill-seal line. A premade-pouch machine receives already manufactured bags and follows a different pickup, opening and filling process.

What output does the source HMK420 project specify?

The June 29, 2026 project table states a target of 80 bags per minute for the proposed zipper-doypack line. This value remains conditional on the approved product, pouch, filler and FAT criteria. A separate series description mentions multi-lane capability, but it is not used here as an unconditional project guarantee.

What pouch range is listed in the project table?

The main-machine table lists 100 × 130 to 210 × 270 mm. Final dimensions, gusset, zipper location, seal widths and retail features must be released through controlled pouch drawings.

Does the multihead-weigher accuracy equal finished-pack accuracy?

No. The proposal lists a theoretical 0.5–1.0 g value for the selected multihead weigher and states that actual accuracy varies with product characteristics and target weight. Finished-pack acceptance must be measured on the integrated line under agreed test conditions.

Can the HMK420 pack powders or liquids?

The HMK platform can be project-matched to different dosing methods, but this page documents a gummy-cluster project with a multihead weigher. Powder or liquid applications require separate confirmation of the filler, product transfer, contamination control, cleaning and FAT scope.

What should be sent for an engineering review?

Send the product description and samples, target weights, minimum and maximum controlled pouch drawings, laminate and zipper specifications, required output, destination utilities, inspection requirements and downstream equipment boundary.

Define the HMK420 configuration with real product and film

Send the controlled pouch drawings, product samples, target weights and required accepted output. INMAYPACK will review the forming, dosing, transfer, sealing and FAT boundary as one project.
